Anomalous Experiences Conference

Developing Perspectives on Anomalous Experience
Saturday 4th June 2005
Liverpool Hope University College, UK

Scientific research in psychology and parapsychology continues to explore anomalous human experience in ever greater depth. Such experiences are often labelled as ‘paranormal’ or ‘psychic’ experiences and have the potential to extend our understanding of the mind.

Developing Perspectives on Anomalous Experience brings together leading academics to discuss contemporary research in this fascinating area. Topics will include alien abduction experiences, altered states of consciousness, apparitions, extrasensory perception, haunting experiences, hypnosis, out-of-body experiences, and precognition. The conference will also examine the role of language, personality, memory and attention in the understanding of anomalous experience. The conference will be of interest to academics, students, and clinical practitioners, indeed anyone with an interest in scientific research on anomalous experience.
