SOCIOLOGY OF SCIENCE: ORGANISED SCEPTICISM
Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal - CSICOP is the leading sceptics organisation. Despite their mission statement according to which "CSICOP encourages the critical investigation of paranormal and fringe-science claims from a responsible, scientific point of view and disseminates factual information about the results of such inquiries to the scientific community and the public" there is evidence that the mission of CSICOP is propaganda of scientistic ideologies rather than scientific exploration.
Skeptical Investigations - Website aiming at the promotion of "genuine skepticism, the spirit of enquiry and doubt, within science. This includes an open-minded investigation of unexplained phenomena, a questioning of dogmatic assumptions, and a skeptical examination of the claims of self-proclaimed skeptics."
Gesellschaft zur wissenschaftlichen Untersuchung von Parawissenschaften - GWUP, German affiliate of CSICOP.
Skeptizismus.de - German website containing information and critical reflections about organised scepticism. Initiated by a founding member of the GWUP.
